A Celebration of the Life of Dobby the House Elf
Character BirthdaysThe calendar on JKRowling.com has been updated to extend birthday wishes to Dobby. A simple House Elf and small in size he might have been, but to many of us, Dobby made the biggest of sacrifices that still looms large in the hearts of many of us here at TLC. As such, we ask that you please join us as we celebrate and remember Dobby.

The first Deathly Hallows film has got to end just after his death, that’s how important he is!!! Cheers Dobby, here’s to the memory …

Oh my gosh. sobs You will never be forgotten Dobby! We all love you!

Dobby: You’re a true hero, so brave, so loyal. I absolutely bawled when Dobby died, I guess I wasn’t expecting Dobby to die… We’ll never forget you, Dobby, & we’ll always love you! Let us all raise our glasses & toast to Dobby, A Free Elf.

I think I cried the hardest at Dobby’s death (maybe only a little more than Hedwig and FRED—sob!!!). Cheers to one of my favourite characters <3>

That was the second time I cried while reading Deathly Hallows. The first being when Harry said, “No, he knew you’d want to come back,” to Ron. Gah I love this book.

I cried my eyes out when Dobby died! Of course I also cried at every death in the series including Hedwig, but hey I loved them all. Dobby’s death was just soooo unbelievably sad though. I swear I’m gonna lose it when DH comes out, I’ll be a blubbering mess almost the entire movie (part I&II). So if you go see DH and hear some loser sniffling in the background, its me. With that said, R.I.F. (Rest In Freedom) Dobby!

I was in shock when Hedwig went boom, but when Dobby died, the way he did…. and his last words were “Harry Potter.” OMG…..my heart broke, and it still is! I felt as if I was digging that grave along with Harry….sniff

I think that that was the saddest think in the whole book. I mean come one why did Dobby has to die? I was so shocked than it was hard to believe it :( And that was after he saved Harry Potter for the last time. Gosh how hard I was crying here. RIP Dobby, we will never absolutely NEVER gonna forget you!

Dobby, I’m so sorry you had to die, but you died defending the friends you loved and who loved you. Good bye :-(.

Happy birthday Dobby! May you rest in peace.
I cried just reading this entry and leaving this comment. That is how much we miss you, Dobby. You were such a gentle and brave person.

Oh Dobby! I really hope you’re happy wherever house elves go! Sniff! I hope you have loads of socks and hats and all sorts of clothes that you love! You’re the one whose death made me really cry for …. sniff….. hugs&cuddles….
