Aaron Sorkin to Replace Writing Staff on The Newsroom

Managing Editor

EW.com is currently reporting that Aaron Sorkin will be making some major staff changes for season 2 of The Newsroom. Sorkin, who is the head writer and executive producer of the show, has reportedly decided to change his writing staff. While HBO does confirm that the change is indeed happening, reports are varied as to how many this will affect.

One report said Sorkin fired most of the writers on the show except his “ex-girlfriend [Corinne Kinsbury].” One source close to the show, however, says The Newsroom layoff body count isn’t quite that high.

Of the four episodes aired, Sorkin is credited with writing three of them, and co-writing one with writer Gideon Yago. The Newsroom was renewed for its second season by HBO after airing episode 2. While changing a writing staff isn’t exactly a rarity in television, how do you think this might change the show in its second season?
