For a team of vampires who try and take the moral high ground in most situations, in “A View to Kill” we see just how immoral our friends from Mystic Falls have become. It only takes them 43 minutes to kill Kol Michaelson thereby killing his entire vampire line. Not once do they weigh the pain that they will cause and the lives they will take. The idea of killing an original has not come up for quite some time, but one would think the Mystic Falls crew would care at least a little. No such luck, all they seem to care about is the stupid cure. This episode was great and really entertaining, but left us still annoyed about this whole cure thing. Can’t they just get on with their lives and forget about it?
The winner of last night’s episode, despite ending the evening trapped in the Gilbert’s living room was Klaus. He was full of the brotherly love for Stefan, Rebekah, and Kol and it was heart warming. It’s still baffling how Klaus can be so evil, while still getting the audience to feel for him. His character has so many layers and Joseph Morgan plays them brilliantly. Favorite Klaus scenes of the night:
1) Klaus is babysitting Damon and asks him what he says to Elena to make her love him. He genuinely wants to know how he can be forgiven, obviously because he’s in love with Caroline. Klaus and Damon have had minimal interaction in the past, but bringing together their characters made perfect sense. Damon’s brilliant advice, if you’re gonna be bad be bad with a purpose.
2) Klaus walks in on Stefan trying to sneak out on Rebekah. His smirk said it all. Good for Stefan for getting over Elena and good for Rebekah for finally getting what she’s always wanted.
3) Klaus tearing up at the site of his brother’s death. He really does care.
With the upcoming spinoff series we will get to see a lot more of Klaus (if it gets picked up) but seeing him go from the main story line will definitely be hard to take.
Stefan and Rebekah’s relationship out adorbs Damon and Elena’s in this episode. Rebekah finally gets the decades dance she’s always wanted and Stefan reveals his absurdly vast knowledge of all things 80s. He loves The Princess Bride, Say Anything, and obviously The Breakfast Club. (The sliding in the hallway scene was amazing.) Now I was only alive in the 80s for three months, but back me up here, those are chick flicks right? Is it feasible that a 100 year old vampire would remember the intricacies of 80s movies, seems farfetched.
For almost the entire episode Stefan is tricking Rebekah to be vulnerable so Matt (last human standing) can stake her, but in the end it was all heartfelt and Stefan can’t go through with it. Who cares if it was all a trick, Rebekah finally got her dance. While dancing to some 80s classics (“I hope you like The Cure”) Rebekah admits what we’ve known all a long, she wants to be human again. Stefan wanting to find the cure for Rebekah is much more appealing than him wanting to find it for Elena. Please let this alliance hold up (doubtful, someone will double cross Rebekah but it would be nice if she won). Also, Chris Mollere hit gold again with Wild Belle “Just Another Girl” which was playing for Stefan and Rebekah’s morning after.
And here’s a picture of Lloyd Dobler, because it seemed appropriate.

All sorts of stuff went down in the Bennet house last night, but we don’t care. Even with Bonnie’s mom back in town and the Mayor putting vervain in the water supply they are the backbone of the most boring and annoying character ever, Bonnie Bennet. We almost forgot how bad her plot lines are while April and Shane were filling the annoyance quota, but with both of them MIA it’s the Bonnie show. We don’t want to see your family meeting Bonnie, we don’t care.
Meanwhile Elena and Jeremy have a fairly easy night all things considered. With relatively little muss they manage to KILL AN ORIGINAL. This should have been a bit more epic. It really just felt like a normal fight, but whatever Kol’s dead and Jeremy is tattooed up. See you next week in the desert with the cure. And hooray for finally having a Matt and Jeremy Xbox scene. We’ve been waiting on that for weeks.
RIP Kol Michaelson

Will the scoobies find the cure? Who will betray Rebekah? Will Jeremy’s new tat help him with the ladies? Let us know in the comments
