Doctor Who Roundup: Murals, Ratings, and Gaiman

Managing Editor

There’s been a handful of awesome Who news recently, and no it’s not how fantastic everyone has been when interacting with Alex’s post. We’re feeling mildly neglectful about that so here’s a trio of awesome for you to enjoy.

Firstly the Doctor Who Facebook page has posted pictures of a gorgeous new mural in Brooklyn, New York.

The hand painted version of the “Asylum of the Daleks” poster is at the corner of  Bedford and Grand in Williamsburg if you wanna go check it out IRL.

Next EW.com is reporting that Saturday’s premiere was the highest the show has ever had on BBC America:

The Saturday telecast was seen by 1.6 million viewers, which is both a time period high and a series best for the show since it started airing on the network in 2009…up 23 percent from its 2011 premiere.

Lastly (and this one had me squeeing like a tiny child) io9 reported that Neil Gaiman is currently working on another Who script; in fact he’s already on a third draft:

Apparently the new episode is slated for the second half of season seven, which means that it could air as soon as spring 2013. But Gaiman pointed out that “The Doctor’s Wife,” his Hugo-winning episode, was originally slated for season five and got bumped to season six for budgetary reasons. The same thing could easily happen to his new episode.

What do you guys think? Is that enough awesome to tide you all over until this Saturday?
