Today, August 18, LionsGate released the Hunger Games film on DVD, packed with special features and bonus material. As a book franchise that just surpassed Harry Potter as the most sold series on Amazon, you can imagine there has been quite a bit of hype for this set of DVDs.
LionsGate had released a trailer for the special features over a month ago, but we can now tell you the crazy things that are actually on the 2 disc DVD or BluRay set.
As Mockingjay.net reports, the DVDs will include several featurettes and conversations with the director, Gary Ross, as well as several of the actors. These include a look into the special effects, how a director approaches turning an already incredibly popular phenomenon into a movie and a segment where Donald Sutherland reads a letter he wrote to Gary Ross about President Snow, before he had even been cast for the part.
Needless to say, Hunger Games fans are pretty pumped. Do special features ever convince you to buy a film on DVD? Sound off in the comments!
