I don’t need to say much. If you’re a fan of Veronica Mars, you need no further impetus to make this movie happen. It looks like Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell had a little meeting with WB and they are off to the races to raise the funds to actually make this movie happen. They need $2 million, which is kind of a lot. But movies are expensive and this one is totally worth it.  See some of your faves kick it off below:

Now head on over to their Kickstarter page and cement your place as a Marshmallow for life. You may even be lucky enough to get a warm Keith Mars embrace.

UPDATE: The Kickstarter campaign is off to a resounding start with $1 million already funded. Need to keep this strong momentum because I want to see Veronica in SPACE!

UPDATE: Shipping is now available to Canada, so all you Canadians who’ve been sitting at the $10 level can now donate more to get T-Shirts, DVDs and all the fun things. Rob Thomas is still working on getting international shipping.

    I am so excited about this!! Not just because we’ll get a Veronica Mars movie, which is brilliant!!! (And after raising one million in 5 hours, I’ll just assume it’s going to happen). But this will also set a precedent for other tv shows that were taken from us by the network. Just imagine the possibilities! A Pushing daisies movie! More Firefly! In the end this really gives more power to the audience – tv networks will no longer be the only ones controlling the money. The audience gets a say in what content it wants to watch and is willing to pay for. And that’s really a game changer.
