I can’t handle how Andrea is not taking this competition seriously at all. With the last challenge and with this one. “I truly had to laugh at myself!” Because you just don’t care? I’m having an anxiety attack for Christopher, and if he goes home for your shenanigans I will not be a happy camper.
Andrea is already saying – three challenges in – that it would be a relief to leave. Let’s pay special attention here:
- “Even though it was totally crazy, I actually had to laugh at myself that I was making myself absolutely nuts over a dress.”
- “There’s part of me that feels like if I get knocked out, it’s sort of like a relief at this point, you know?
These are the quotes we’re given from Andrea, while her face is just passive and non-committal. If you really feel that way, stop the presses and withdraw. It’s really not fair to any of the people who want to be here and who are taking this seriously. Meanwhile this lady is just like “HAHAHA It’s a dress what’s so stressful? Silly me! Hurrrr.” Come on now. Poor Christopher is finally decompressing all that tension, and we get probably the best reaction shot of the evening from with Nathan, Sonjia, and Elena.

On the runway, we address Fabio and Ven first. Heidi quite enjoys it and Kenley is ecstatic. Nina loves the color and that it looks expensive. Nina loves the length, but Krysten thinks it’s too short. Michael says no one will rave about it, but he likes the designers’ style and Kenley’s style, and how the two work well in tandem.Ven gives himself an ego boost, but hey, why wouldn’t you say you deserve to win? It’s cool. I’m sure there’s no hate here.
Gunnar says the Lexus screamed old school class, and I feel like Irinia certainly looks like she wants to scream. There’s something about the texture of this textuile too that is odd. Despite not being in the bottom, Kooan still looks like somebody lit his favorite teddy bear on fire. Thank goodness Irinia is kind of a frosty bitch, because these boys shouldn’t get by on a lucky glance. Heidi’s face when Irina says the sewing skills good be improved on is hilarious. Nina likes the design and that it’s very wearable and Krysten likes the high neck and the cut of the bodice. Michael likes the cut and the drama and that the boys understood their client. Kooan, ever the shrinking violet, thinks Gunnar should win.
For the bottom two, we start with Raul and Alicia. Raul starts by basically saying since it’s not menswear they’re not surprised it’s crap. Mila says there are fit issues and that she wishes there was more tailoring… since their collective background involvesd tailoring. Alicia says the focus was on gowns, and all the judges at once go BWAH?! Heidi and I are in the same mind that it’s boring and not sexy at all. She’s also loudly protesting the hair extensions and Michael says there’s a horse somewhere missing it’s tail. I died. Oh god the tailoring that did happen is… gross. Oh and then Heidi does the who goes home game, and these two go “Oh it’s equal merrr.” Whatever.

Christopher and Andrea are next, and Heidi clocks him for his sadness. Bless his heart, he’s trying so hard not to throw Andrea under the bus. He wants to say it took HER all 10 hours to cut, and SHE executed very poorly… but he doesn’t. I respect that to a point, but he needs to call her out. Anya thinks they were simply too ambitious, and that’s awfully generous of her. Christopher finally gets there with laying out how much Andrea screwed this up. And now he’s quoting her backstage line about saying she should go home and that’s fine, and she’s backpedaling. Remember? We quoted this. Scroll up. He gets the balls to call her out and now it may be too late. Maybe this is an editing issue, but I did not see her say, “Even if I go home now this has been fun.” She said it would be a relief. She has no problem throwing him under to save her skin, while he’s got too much respect to say what he wants to say.
For the decision, Michael mentions the fabric issue with Gunnar/Kooan. Everyone else loves the drama involved, but I’ve got to go with Michael on this one. Heidi likes Ven’s look, and everyone agrees that it was appropriate. Krysten loves it, would wear it, has worn it, but Heidi’s not sold. They do all agree they’d be proud to see it on the red carpet.
Nina and Michael think the Christopher/Andrea look is cheesy, obvious, and cliche. Meanwhile, the other dress is just bad. The fit is bad, the taste is bad, and both get called out for not putting the breaks on it.
Ven wins – again! – and so has immunity AND gets to go to the Emmys with Kenley in that cute cute dress. I don’t dislike Ven’s designs, and this dress is so cute, I just don’t like his attitude. So Fabio, Gunnar, and Kooan are of course all staying.
Christopher, thankfully, is in. Why is Andrea rubbing his back? Don’t touch him! You hurt him! And while I agree that the frump is worse, I just don’t think she has a dog in this fight. Precious little Raul gets the boot, because only one person is going home and it can’t really be both your fault. Though I’d rather see Andrea go. At least this time it was a mutual dread and not two people fighting about who should be out.
Let us know what you thought in the comments, and also can we talk about the how the preview is basically everyone jumping ship? I cannot WAIT.
