Reaction: First Image of Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine

Today 20th Century Fox released the first official photo of Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine. The film, due out July 26, 2013, is being co-produced by Marvel Studios and Fox. Check out the image in all of it’s glory below. (image via The HuffPo)

And now, an open letter to Fox.

Dear Fox,

Thanks for the image! It’s totally rad. That Shinto altar in the back, hinting at the movie’s setting in Japan is seriously neat. Like so boss, daddio. There’s just one teeny tiny problem…

I CAN’T SEE PAST HUGH JACKMAN’S VEINY ARMS!

Seriously. I don’t think I’ve ever been so distracted in my life. I love Hugh. I really do. I saw him once on Broadway and was instantly in love. His portrayal of Logan is a great balance of sass and badassery, even if he doesn’t always get the scripts he deserves. Also coming out of Les Mis starving/skinny mode, and getting into buff superhero shape was probably wicked difficult and kudos to him. But really with the arms? C’mon. Don’t look me in the eye and tell me this image isn’t photoshopped and airbrushed and virtually botoxed 6 days to Sunday. You enhanced his super mutant super hot physique to get the attention of the ladies. All well and good. In general, I approve. But really, when turning the Wolverine in the picture into a bronzed god (because let’s be honest here, not even Mitt Romney tried to pull off that much spray-tan) nobody stopped to think - gee, you know, them veins are a little… much. Let’s just do away with those, shall we?

Sincerely,

I said what we all were thinking.

I adore you, Leah. Wolverine is far too imperfect for such a bronze-y godification.
