So about 2 years ago I bought this really cheap, really sugary lemonade. For some reason, I drank a cup of it right before bed for about a week; all that week I had lucid dreams and one of them I’ll never forget was about a Veronica Mars / Terriers movie. My two favorite beach town private eye gangs joined together to solve a big mystery: Who Killed Keith Mars? I was IN the movie, which was amazing, despite being sad that Keith was dead.
And now with the insane action on Kickstarter, my crazy, lucid dreams are coming true!

So it seems right about time to get started on figuring out what WE want in this movie. More than ever, it seems like we fans have a say in things, crowdsourcing funds, why not crowdsource our ideas! Dream big, I’ll get us started.
Who we want to see: Obviously Veronica, Keith, Logan, Wallace, Mac, Weevil, and Dick but what other characters from the 3 seasons of Veronica’s adventures would you want to see. Here are my picks:

Clarence Wiedman- One of the more clever Veronica Mars opponents, I’d hope that Clarence could make an appearance and be a stumbling block again for Veronica and her father. He was always a worthy adversary.

Alicia Fennel- Even more than I want to see Keith not dead, I want to see him happy. The happiest I remember him was when he was with Wallace’s mom and with time moved on a bit, I think they could put it together.

Desmond Fellows: I just want to see Paul Rudd back up on stage singing some Cotton Mather hits. I’m thinking “Vegetable Row” would do nicely. Then can we also just get a copy of Rudd laying down “My Before and After” on the soundtrack?
Rob Thomas mentioned some of the ideas that have been swimming in his head on the Kickstarter page:
“I developed a pitch that revolved around graduation day at Hearst college — Wallace and Mac were graduating at least, Veronica had been sidetracked by freeing Keith from prison. Plus, there was a murder in Neptune that was affecting the beach city’s spring break business in much the same way a great white shark affected the beach community of Amity.”
Personally, I could get down with the serial killer as Jaws action and I would pay to see the Great Mars Escape any day of the week. Sad to not see this one, maybe it’ll be the sequel! Thomas later mentions some hints about what could potentially be part of the story:
“Life has taken Veronica away from Neptune. In the years since spoiling Keith’s chances to be reelected sheriff, Veronica hasn’t taken a case. But something big is about to bring her back home and back to her calling. My goal is to include as many of your favorite characters as possible. It is, after all, time for Veronica’s 10-year high school reunion.”
I CAN’T wait to see what Thomas and Co. can come up with… but we wouldn’t be fans if we didn’t have our own thoughts. Part of the fun when this film was FIRST mentioned as a possibility was developing stories. This is a good chance to get back at it and start to hypothesize, which my lemonade-addled brain has been doing since the Kickstarter launch:
Keith’s Murder- Obviously, this would be very sad, BUT it could echo the Lily Kane murder story from the first season AND I think we could get Keith enough through flashbacks.
Lianne’s Murder- This would be easier to deal with, since “the hero’s the one that stays, the villain’s the one who splits.” You don’t mess with Veronica’s family though, and she would certainly go on the warpath to find her mother’s killer. This could also bring in a fair amount of our old faves, the Kanes, Weidman, the Fitzpatricks. A fertile ground for story.
Veronica’s Friends Disappear- A longtime foe is picking off Veronica’s friends at her high school reunion. First Mac, then Wallace go missing. Then just as fans are teased with an LoVe rekindling, Logan. Veronica and Keith band together to stem the tide of Veronica’s losses.
Lynn Echolls Returns- After years of uncertainty and no contact, Logan is recommitted to the cause of finding his mother when a mysterious package arrives. He enlists the best PI he knows: Veronica Mars.

Those are what I’ve been cooking up all day. As I write this, the Kickstarter is riding ever closer to the baseline $2,000,000 goal, so excellent job Marshmallows.
Who do you want to see in the film? What stories would you like to see? I’d like to take a minute to let Rob Thomas know that I’m available for writing assistance at any juncture. Now I think I’ll go get some more of that lemonade and focus on dreaming about a wad of cash.
