We have a few pieces of news and rumors regarding Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to update you on.
First, thanks to Oclumencia via HarryPotterforum, who emailed regarding what they believe to be a new photo of Harry (Dan Radcliffe) from “Half-Blood Prince.” While you can see that photo, here via this link, we do not know the original source of this photo, nor what scene this may be from, and are working to find out more about this.

Back in March, we told you Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling had been nominated for a National Children’s Choice Book Award. Last night in New York City, these awards were presented, with J.K. Rowling named “Author of the Year,” for her work on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. With production on “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” nearing completion in England, there is a new report tonight regarding early production for the final two films in the series due to take place in the highlands of Scotland. The Scotsman newspaper is reporting that filming for both Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movies “will be shot in Lochaber later this year.” As readers will recall, Potter film producer David Heyman stated that full production on both films, which will be filmed simultaneously, is due to begin in February of next year, so it is uncertain at this...

Happy Birthday wishes go out today to actor Robert Pattinson, who portrayed Hufflepuff Cedric Diggory in the “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” film. Mr. Pattinson is celebrating his 22nd birthday today.
Also today, actress Zoë Wanamaker, who portrayed Madame Hooch in “Sorcerer’s Stone,” is celebrating her 59th birthday. Many happy returns on the day!

You can see the photo of Jason Isaacs as Lucius, sitting in his cell in Azkaban, holding his prisoner id card, via this link.

Even though we do not yet have any new “Half-Blood Prince” photos as of yet, we do have a bit of news on some new high res photos from “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” Oclumencia let us know they have some high res (and quite large) still photos from the Ministry of Magic scene filming now online. There are a few pieces of news related to the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yet today. First, readers will recall previously there was a purported ad promoting the sixth Harry Potter film seen on container for yarn of all things. Although a few of these images also appeared on the Opal yarn website, WB told us the cardboard stand marketing was a fake. Actress Jessie Cave, who is set to portray Lavender Brown in the upcoming “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” film, is briefly featured in an issue of ASOS Magazine where she comments on her first on-screen kiss with fellow actor Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley). Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has contributed a special “storycard” as part of a charity auction in the UK. Bloomberg reports that Jo joins authors such as Richard Ford, Nick Hornby, Doris Lessing, Tom Stoppard and Sebastian Faulks who have all written an original piece on a “blank A5 sheet ” for this auction, which will benefit the English PEN and Dyslexia Action. The Chicago Tribune speaks to Roger Rapoport of RDR Books, the publishing company that is involved in a legal battle against JK Rowling and Warner Brothers over the rights to publish a book version of the HP Lexicon website.
Not a Potter fan, Mr. Rapoport was unfamiliar with the Lexicon website until he saw a newspaper profile on Vander Ark in July 2007.

May 2nd marks the ten year anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts which took place in the final chapters of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” On that night, wizards took up arms together to fight against the Dark Lord resulting in many brave souls being lost during that battle. Our Contest Crew has launched a new contest today which asks you to help Remember the Magic for a certain experience from the first book, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” In order to enter, please write a “vignette” describing the sights, sounds, smells and feelings Harry encounters as he enters Diagon Alley for the first time. A vignette is like a literary “snapshot” where you give a quick glimpse of a scene without necessarily telling the full story. Vignettes tend to be rich in descriptive details. Back in March, we told you Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling had been nominated for a National Children’s Choice Book Award. Last night in New York City, these awards were presented, with J.K. Rowling named “Author of the Year,” for her work on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. With production on “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” nearing completion in England, there is a new report tonight regarding early production for the final two films in the series due to take place in the highlands of Scotland. The Scotsman newspaper is reporting that filming for both Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movies “will be shot in Lochaber later this year.” As readers will recall, Potter film producer David Heyman stated that full production on both films, which will be filmed simultaneously, is due to begin in February of next year, so it is uncertain at this...
